Those Who Can't Live Table Read

Hometown boys The Grawlix (Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy) were already big stars in Denver, but they did the Mile High City proud—and gained an even wider nationwide following—when truTV picked up their original show Those Who Can't as the network's first scripted comedy. The first season was met with critical and popular acclaim, and The Grawlix have spent most of the year in L.A. writing and filming the show's second season.

Now you can get a sneak peek at a future episode! Adam, Andrew and Ben will be joined by castmate Maria Thayer (in a special festival guest appearance), Ian Karmel, and maybe a surprise guest or two, as they perform a live table read of a season two episode.

No. You've just found yourself in 2016 where black people are actively redefining "black people." So sit back and enjoy while we welcome you…to the New Negroes.

"New Negro" is a term popularized during the Harlem Renaissance to imply an outspoken intellectual departure from long-standing racist ideology and institutions.

These Things Matter LIVE

These Things Matter came about when stand-up comedian Kevin O’Brien and former theatrical director and future DJ to the stars Taylor Gonda realized they were the same person. Not literally, of course, but over several months in 2012, a relationship was built on High Fidelityism – the belief that pop culture can change your life.

With this in mind, they embarked on an aural journey of discovery into the hearts and minds of Denver’s creative community. As time passed, they branched out and explored the obsessions of creative-types nationwide!

Their journey continues, no reference too obscure, no genre too highfalutin. Join them as they wade through movies, music, comedy, television, video games, toys, books, comics and more!

These Things Matter was named Best Podcast at the 2012 Westword Web Awards and Best Podcast in Westword’s 2014 Best of Denver awards.

The live version of These Things Matter is always an audience fave. And while the topic might be a surprise, the killer line-up of smart, pithy comedians and pop culture connoisseurs are sure to delight.
