High Plains Headliner Show With The Dollop!

Comedy Works Entertainment and High Plains Comedy Festival are pleased to present The Dollop at Paramount Theatre on Saturday, Sept 18, 2021 at 8pm.

The Dollop is a U.S. history podcast with comedian hosts Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds. History buff Dave decided to turn his hobby into a podcast. Each episode he reads one weird and disturbing story from the American past to Gareth, who has never heard the tale. Gareth's hilarious reactions are why The Dollop is in the top 20 downloaded comedy podcasts in the US, Canada, and Australia.

High Plains Presents How Did This Get Made?

Come see a wildly popular podcast about wildly unpopular movies. Hilarious hosts Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael (and maybe a surprise guest?) breakdown the Travolta "classic," Look Who's Talking Too. If you're not already an HDTGM fan, you will be after a live show, and if you already are, get ready to experience the shenanigans you love, live and in person in Denver for the very first time.

High Plains Headlining Show w/ Anthony Jeselnik

The High Plains Comedy Festival, Illegal Pete's and Comedy Works Entertainment are pleased to present Anthony Jeselnik LIVE at The Paramount Theatre. Anthony Jeselnik has become one of the world's most influential comedians delivering the most devastating lines with an underlying wink at the camera. Whether you love Jeselnik's albums, his appearances on the Comedy Central Roasts or you're just a twisted individual, Anthony Jeselnik is one of the best. This summer he's the host of NBC's Last Comic Standing, so watch Anthony every week to get pumped for the Saturday, August 22 show!

But it wouldn't be High Plains Comedy Festival without a stacked lineup of comics.

Enter Nikki Glaser. A fixture on Comedy Central's @midnight, Nikki Glaser burst into national consciousness on NBC's Last Comic Standing. Since that time, Nikki has bulldozed her way to a Comedy Central Special, her own talk show with MTV, Nikki & Sara LIVE, appearances on The Bachelorette roasting the contestants, regular spots on Inside Amy Schumer, The Tonight Show and a million other things. It's exhausting. She's even in Judd Apatow's Trainwreck right now with Amy Schumer. She's a Denver favorite and we couldn't be more pleased to have her back.

Kurt Braunohler is a madman.  He's hosted his own gameshow on IFC called BUNK, crushed on Comedy Central's @midnight, and has one of the best shows in Los Angeles. Kurt is a fan of the absurd and finds joy in challenging the common man to question it all by doing crazy things like paying a skywriter to write, "HOW DO I LAND?" in the sky over LA, and writing in greeting cards in the grocery store, giving card recipients a whimsical surprise. Kurt was here recently doing the Sexpot Comedy show COOL SHIT filming his new Comedy Central pilot with his wife Lauren Cook and Scotty Landes in which they drove a GIANT BUTT called #TheLoveButt across the country and filmed the whole thing. This man drove a butt COAST TO COAST! Last year he did another CC project called Roustabout where he JET-SKIED the entire Mississippi River! Kurt loves Denver and is back at High Plains after being a part of the inaugural year.

Karen Kilgariff and Drennon Davis are savant comedic and music performers on their own. But together, they are a whole other level. That's why they just brought their magic to CONAN and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival together. Karen was head writer of both The Pete Holmes Show and The Ellen Degeneres Show and one of the key pieces of the HBO classic Mr. Show with Bob and David. Drennon is simply one of the most interesting talents in comedy today and performed on Comedy Central's Adam Devine's House Party. Karen and Drennon are also performing at 3 Kings Tavern, Fri 8/21 at 7PM during High Plains Comedy Festival and that show will be very musical in nature. You should NOT miss it.

Brody Stevens is a comedy force to be reckoned with, with thousands of television show warm-ups, appearances in The Hangover 1 and 2, and Due Date, and is likely the most athletic comedian on the fest this year boasting pitching credentials from Arizona State University. Brody was the host of Funny or Die's Oddball Comedy Festival Tour, just appeared on The Kroll Show on Comedy Central, had his own Comedy Central series Enjoy It! and appeared on Chelsea Lately and The Best Damn Sports Show while also warming up the studio audiences with his signature Positive Energy. Brody is becoming a beast on the new social media app Periscope so follow him there. And if you need to get Brody's essence, we recommend his JASH/VPN video podcast Positive Push. Brody will wow you with his energy, rhythm and drumming. Buckle up. It's awesome.

Each year High Plains Comedy Festival picks a comic from Denver that stands out in the scene to the point where everyone has to catch up that person. This year, Aaron Urist is that person. Aaron just traveled with Sexpot Comedy to the Hollywood Improv, he crushed opening and hosting for T.J. Miller at The Gothic Theater, and he has a hot new show with fellow Denver standout Jordan Doll called Crush City every month at The Savoy.
