Volunteer for High Plains

We are now accepting volunteer applications for the 2023 Festival.

Volunteers are the backbone of the High Plains Comedy Festival. And by volunteering your time, you not only get the warm, fuzzy feeling that comes with helping out, but you get a behind-the-scenes look at how a festival runs and the funny people who are its core. If you're interested in volunteering—and earning a full festival pass*—please complete the form below.

* You must volunteer for at least 3 shifts to earn a festival pass and restrictions apply to the volunteer pass—contact us for more information.

  • Venue Coordinator: oversee the overall operations of a single venue, including managing volunteers, line management, and ensuring the shows run on time and audiences are happy and non-disruptive.
  • Transportation: help us get performers, staff and supplies from point a to point b.
  • Hospitality: keep our greenrooms stocked and our performers happy while staying professional and friendly.
  • Stage Manager: Manage the flow of individual shows by lighting the performers, communicating with the sound person, and coordinating with the VC to ensure shows run on time.
  • Door: Work at the door of the venue, managing lines, checking in existing ticket holders and handling on-site ticket sales. (This is a great position if you want to help and also see the shows happening at your venue.)
  • Merchandise Sales: Help us sell some swag! You'll handle cash and credit card sales, manage inventory and actively seek pre- and post-show sales.
