Sonya appears on Those Who Can't on truTV as Tammy Sherman and joins the Festival as a special guest.

Sonya Eddy, a native of Concord, California, graduated from UC Davis with double bachelor’s degrees in English and African-American Studies with a minor in Dramatic Arts. Ms. Eddy began her acting career performing in several main stage productions at UC Davis. Those roles include: Big Sweet, in the West Coast Premiere of Ruby Dee’s Zora Is My Name, Tituba in The Crucible, The Witch in Into The Woods, and Bloody Mary in South Pacific, for which she won the Arty Award for Supporting Actress in a Musical (a major theatre award in Northern California).

Ms. Eddy has been a professional actress in Los Angeles for several years. Sonya’s incredible range and versatility has worked well to assist her in garnering many television and film credits. These include: series regular roles Tammy Sherman on Those Who Can’t for truTV, Ramona on Legit, for Fox Television, Deb on Fresh Off The Boat for ABC Television, and for the last 10 years Epiphany Johnson on General Hospital and General Hospital: Night Shift for ABC Television. In addition, Sonya has been cast in several national commercials, television guest star appearances and film roles. Ms. Eddy is also an accomplished vocalist with recordings available on iTunes.

Over the last two years, Ms. Eddy has branched out into producing with her partner, Tyler Ford with their production company, Eddy Ford Entertainment. They also have established Eddy Ford Beverly Hills, a lifestyle brand, which includes jewelry, perfume, accessories and more.
